Performance Opportunities

Annual Recital . . .

Dothan School of Dance concludes its ten month session in late May with a recital at the Dothan Civic Center. It is strongly recommended that each student participate in the recital in order to develop their confidence and performing abilities.

Southeast Alabama Dance Company (SEADAC . . .)

In addition, interested students ages 7 and up can audition for non-company parts in SEADAC’s annual Christmas performance “The Nutcracker” as well as their spring performance which is to be announced this year. Older members can audition to become an actual company member. SEADAC is an honor company member of the Southeast Alabama Regional Ballet Association. This provides them with a free company class each week along with opportunities to perform in full-length ballets. Both of these groups of students are not only talented dancers, but are also great role models for the school and the community. . [Snow Scene from Nutcracker]

Performance Teams . . .

For the serious dancer, The Dothan School of Dance provides performance teams, which gives these talented and dedicated dancers more exposure to the professional workshops and world-renowned choreographers and teachers through national conventions and competitions. Annual auditions are required for the performance teams.

Dothan School of Dance students have earned numerous scholarships, awards and honors at various regional and National competitions.
