Curriculum

Class Levels and Advancement . . .

Students ages 3 and up are offered various levels of classes in Creative Movement, Classical Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Acrobatics and Voice. All students are placed according to ability by our faculty. As a student progresses, more classes are required. Students MUST take the minimum of required amount of classes for their level as they progress..

Voice:
Ages 10 and up, one
45 minute class per week.

Dress Code . . .

For ballet, all girls must wear pink tights and pink ballet shoes and a solid colored leotard (black is recommended). Ballet skirts are optional and hair should be neatly secured in a bun (no ponytails). For tap class, beginners should wear black flat-heeled tap shoes and intermediate/advanced should wear black-heeled tap shoes. For jazz, all students should wear black jazz shoes. Boys and men should wear black tights and jazz pants, white t-shirt and appropriate shoes for each class. Hair for all classed should be neatly secured away from face and off of the neck. No heavy jewelry or loose fitting clothes should be worn to any class. All dancing supplies are available in our dance wear shop in the studio.

Policies…

Every student and parent is expected to read and follow the rules of The Dothan School of Dance.
The school reserves the right to dismiss any student whose attitude or conduct is unsatisfactory.
Student and parents should check the bulletin board in the lobby periodically to be aware of all notices posted.
All students that participate in the recital are required to attend all rehearsals during the recital week.
All registration fees, tuition, recital fees, costumes, ect. Are non-refundable.
